Welcome to the Your Story campaign, and thank you for scanning my poster. I hope you like what you find here, and I can't wait to hear your story.
A quick bit about me first. I'm a photographer who was basically raised with a camera in hand. I grew up all over the country, moving from state to state, and then travelled further still once I started working as a documentary filmmaker. It is honestly easier to count the places I haven't been.
Somewhere along the way I noticed I was moved more deeply by my photographs than by my films. I also noticed something else. There are remarkable stories everywhere.
Knoxville is no exception. There are amazing people all over this city, and I want to tell their stories. I want to capture their light and share it with everyone else.
That is why I started this campaign. I want to meet new people. I want to hear more stories. I want to learn about this place through the people who make it so vibrant.

The gift
This is the real purpose of the campaign. Every booking gets to point me toward somebody else. If you know a person with a story worth hearing, tell me about them. If it sounds like a story I should hear, I will meet with them one on one. And if it turns out to be a truly great story, I'll offer them a Feature shoot completely free.
One referral per booking. It can be a friend who has overcome drug addiction, someone who met Sasquatch, a business owner who used to be homeless, or a random guy who collects ceramic unicorns. If you think it's interesting, let me know. I'd love to hear it.
So here are the steps:
Tell me what the session is for. Just you, your family, the two of you, whatever fits.
Give me a rough timeframe, or an exact date if you have one in mind.
In the Refer a story box, tell me a little about the person whose story I should hear.
Then I will be in touch about your shoot, and I will want to hear more about your referral. If the story sounds right, I will reach out to them. That is it. It really is that easy.

Request received
I've got your request, including the date you picked. I'll be in touch personally, usually within a day or two, with a confirmation of your quote and shoot date.
